Children are naturally inquisitive and as language begins to develop the never-ending questions will inevitably start. An appropriate time to begin to discuss cultural diversity is when the child begins to ask questions and shows an interest. This is the perfect opportunity to expose your child to the beauty of our world. Discussions and materials can be adapted to the ages/level of the child. This is also an opportunity to delve into exploring the geography of different parts of the world and the uniqueness of cultures. All this of course should be based on the interest your child exhibits. I've used the following books, puzzle and games as a starting point in our Kiddies Around The World class for the exploration of different countries. There is an infinite amount of resources out there.
Happy Voyaging !
